As I get closer to d-day, I'm getting more nervous about this bike tour thingy. Common sense tells me I've done enough training and that I have more than enough base miles built up over the last 25 years. I still keep wondering how my mental and physical well being will keep up over the 30 days.
Instead of spending my last 'free' weekend riding all the time, I decided to go to Bend with friend Ian and his family. Lots of kids time, workiong on my tan lines and a bit of cycling....
Ian and I rode up to Mt Bachelor on Saturday. After the 40 mile an hour descent back into town, we stopped off at the Deschutes brewery for the perfect recovery drink.

I look forward to reading about how your mind and body copes with this most arduous of journeys. Kinda like the pioneers carrying wagons over mountains back in the day.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and stay safe in your cross country bike ride! Nice bike frame, by the way.
